As Technical Facilitator for the Illinois Public Health Institute, Laura leads one of the nation’s most ambitious CIE initiatives—aligning public health, social services, and healthcare providers in Cook County to enable integrated, patient-centered care. She directs vendor strategy, consent governance, funding alignment, and interoperability across systems.
Working with the Washington State Health Care Authority, Laura spearheaded the statewide rollout of ConsentLink, aligning it with state-specific regulations and national interoperability standards. Her leadership ensured scalable, secure consent management within the state’s HIE infrastructure.
At Health Gorilla, Laura managed the development and launch of a national ADT (Admissions, Discharge, Transfer) network built on FHIR standards, improving real-time patient data exchange across the continuum of care.
As Product Manager at IHDE, Laura led the creation of a FHIR-native data warehouse and reduced patient duplication rates by over 90% through advanced EMPI implementation.
Laura directed the go-live transformation strategy for Cerner implementation, coordinating stakeholder communication, workflow integration, and adoption planning for state-wide Medicaid services.
Through leadership roles at Community Health Systems and Quorum Health, Laura supported thousands of providers in achieving Meaningful Use and MACRA compliance, directly improving care documentation, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiencies.
As founder of Nixon Strategic Consulting, Laura has guided state agencies, HIEs, and health tech vendors through multimillion-dollar transformation projects involving interoperability, funding strategy, data governance, and public-private collaboration.
